The Eisner Foundation Appoints Trent Stamp as Executive Director

January 31, 2008

A Nationally Recognized Non-Profit Expert, Stamp Will Lead The Eisner Foundation as It Expands Its Focus and Pursues New Strategic Partnerships

LOS ANGELES--(Business Wire)--Trent Stamp has been appointed Executive Director of The Eisner Foundation, it was announced by Jane and Michael Eisner. The founder of Charity Navigator, Stamp brings extensive expertise in the non-profit sector to his post at The Eisner Foundation, which is dedicated to philanthropic initiatives that enhance and enrich the lives of children and families, and advance medical research. His appointment comes as The Foundation, now in its second decade of grantmaking, continues to grow in its specialized areas of giving, expands its focus to the issues of aging, and pursues new strategic directions.

"Trent's tremendous energy and his deep connections within the non-profit world make him the ideal candidate to lead The Foundation," said Jane Eisner. "We are particularly excited about his ability to forge partnerships with other foundations on cooperative initiatives that allow us to expand the depth and scope of the programs we support."

Immediately prior to joining The Eisner Foundation, Stamp served as president of Charity Navigator, the nation's largest and most-used evaluator of American charities and non-profits. Founded by Stamp in 2001, Charity Navigator has become a trusted online resource to nearly five million donors annually. Previously, Stamp worked as vice-president, communications for Teach For America, as an analyst and manager for the Social Security Administration, and as a legislative aide for U.S. Representative Robert Matsui. He has served as a Teach For America teacher in rural North Carolina and as a Presidential Management Fellow.

"I look forward to advancing the vision that Michael and Jane Eisner had when they established The Foundation," said Trent Stamp. "The Foundation has an impressive record of giving to leading-edge programs and highly effective community projects that have made a real difference in people's lives. The Foundation is poised to make a huge leap with its expanded focus in the arena of aging and by teaming with other philanthropic leaders to build and replicate successful programs."

Stamp succeeds Laura Hobart, who has served as Executive Director since The Foundation's inception. "We are grateful to Laura for her vital efforts in firmly establishing The Foundation within the community and helping us to achieve significant milestones during her tenure," said Michael Eisner.

Stamp received his Master's in Public Policy from Duke University and his B.A. in Law and Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is married and has two small children.
